A leaky hot water heater can cause some serious damage, especially in this case. This was saturated, meaning completely wet. After a couple days with fans on the area, we didn't find results from just putting fans on the area and letting the dehumidifiers pull the moisture out of the air. We had to try something else, so we pulled out this nifty machine.

As you can see you put one fan blowing on one side and that pushes the air through the tubes going into the holes made from simply drilling through the drywall. This is effective because it lets you put the air exactly where you want it and by drilling the holes, it lets you put the air directly in the wall cavity for maximum air movement.
