Moisture Meter

This little device is called a moisture meter. It is used to detect moisture in such things as flooring, wall, and ceiling. During a week when we had some bad rain storms this customer had flooding in his home.

The water came in from under the weep screed. The weep screed is an object to prevent water from entering your house from underneath. That is why you see landscaping stop short of the foundation a few inches under the slab. This is to prevent water in storm events or irrigation going under that and flooding your house.
